2012 does indeed start here, and will continue with
further releases of our Paramics Discovery software. The
new logo will gradually replace the logo with the familar "swoosh",
which will
remain the symbol of the
current mainstream S-Paramics
"2000 series".
There is much to
look forward to in 2012!
A revolution for traffic flow analysis :
First
introduced commercially in 1997, S-Paramics microsimulation software
has now been adopted as a design tool by transport planning authorities,
agencies and consultants throughout the UK and overseas. It was created
by SIAS Limited, a transport planning consultancy established in 1974.
SIAS's extensive experience contributes to the uniquely comprehensive
Paramics Microsimulation client support service. This includes on-line
technical support and model audit for the hundreds of S-Paramics software
licence holders worldwide. We provide public and in-house training courses,
and busy user group meetings where the wide experience of the user base
can be discussed in open forum.
Only S-Paramics offers wide area modelling including tiered dynamic
route choice for robust routeing in large networks, with links to ITS
and UTC systems. S-Paramics can model transit operations, bus or light
rail, with user defined scheduling and bus stop loading. S-Paramics
also includes a batch farm to manage multiple model runs and a sophisticated
data analysis tool to aggregate and compare scheme options.
In terms of traffic flow modelling,
S-Paramics can do everything!
Does this make it a panacea? Possibly,
but remember, a good traffic modeller can create a good traffic model
out of most modelling systems, and a bad traffic modeller will always
create a bad traffic model out of the best system available. What we
can say without fear of contradiction is that microsimulation can be
very effectively deployed for traffic flow modelling under ALL
circumstances.
Paramics Microsimulation is happy to
receive challenges to that assertion, and to further assert that its
own product, S-Paramics, cannot be beaten on functionality, performance,
veracity and output!
